Product Manager salaries in India, 2026 — by city & experience

Hyrd Editorial· Updated Jul 10, 2026·6 min read

PM compensation in India has widened dramatically — a Senior PM at a late-stage startup can out-earn a Director at a traditional company. Here are real, current ranges (fixed + typical ESOP-adjusted) by level and city for 2026.

By experience level (total cash, ₹/year)

  • Associate PM (0–2 yrs): ₹18–32L
  • Product Manager (2–5 yrs): ₹28–55L
  • Senior PM (5–8 yrs): ₹45–80L
  • Group PM / Principal (8–12 yrs): ₹70L–1.4Cr
  • Director of Product (12+ yrs): ₹1.2–2.5Cr+

By city

Bangalore still pays the most for product roles, followed by Gurgaon and Mumbai. Remote roles at global companies frequently beat all of them — a US or EU company hiring in India through its ATS often pays 20–40% above local benchmarks.

  • Bangalore: baseline (highest local market)
  • Gurgaon / Delhi NCR: ~5–10% below Bangalore
  • Mumbai / Hyderabad / Pune: ~10–15% below Bangalore
  • Remote (global employer): frequently 20–40% above Bangalore

What moves your number the most

  1. Company stage. Series C+ and profitable scale-ups pay top of band; early startups trade cash for larger ESOPs.
  2. Domain. Fintech, dev-tools and B2B SaaS pay a premium over consumer and services.
  3. Being early to the role. The best-paying roles get filled fast and quietly — often before they reach a board.

That last point matters more than people admit: the highest-paying PM roles rarely stay open long enough to reach Naukri. They're filled from referrals and career-page applicants in the first week.

Stop refreshing job boards. Hyrd pings matching roles to your Telegram the second they go live — from career pages and ATS, before the crowd.
